A vacant teacher repeating a propaganda laden spelling exercise, ignoreing the violence at the back of the room as the other students circled Izek. You became fellow orphans in his miserable school. Each time the voice of Izek today pleaded for the experience to stop. Guided by the mists of Watcherhaus’ magic, you experienced several more episodes from young Izek’s life. You surmised Izek’s uncle had robbed his brother before steeling away. When you searched the body you found nothing – suspiciously so. A few of you searched the area for Ireena but, aside from a few footprints, lost track of her. You were skeptical, as his quick departure seemed dubious, but he gave you no time to question him. If you wished to find her he would be eternally grateful, but he needed to get the boy to safety before he bled out. You told him a young girl had run off (his niece), but he said she was surely dead. You demanded answers, and he simply said he was the child’s uncle and needed to get him to Vallaki. As you did, the living adult seemed to be fiddling about his counterpart’s body before picking up the boy to flee. You were able to kill or chase off the rest of the creatures. Like a flood of understanding, Laine knew it had always been her who’d taken the boy’s arm. In a moment of decision, Laine LaBataille brought her ax down and split the lad’s arm above the elbow. In one leap, a creature was able to bite and maul little Izek’s arm, clinging on to the boy. It was a challenge to protect those in danger while fighting, and the direwolves made use of hit-and-run tactics as well as their terrain. You considered chasing the girl but knew that if you did so the boy would surely die, so you set to putting down the wolves instead. You called out to her, but in her panic she ran deeper into the woods and out of sight. You locked eyes, and instantly recognized this as a young Ireena Kolyana. At the edge of the trees, however, you also spied a terrified girl with cascading auburn hair. A boy was hiding behind him, who you could plainly tell was a young Izek. Another man was doing his best to keep the creatures at bay with a torch and short-sword. You found several humans waylaid by the direwolves and in need of help. You left these questions for later and leaped into action. This was Izek Strazni’s past, and he did not want you here. The terrified screams and shouts of Izek, audible to all of you but not it seemed to the other players in his memory, left you doubt as to whose life you were experiencing. The howls of the direwolves and the screams of their prey made it easy for you to track the next moment which needed your attention. You were somewhere in the Svalich Woods, probably not too far from Vallaki.
